BIG, FAT AND NOISY: Punjabi Music Star Sharry Mann Not The Only One Upset With Parmish Verma-Geet Grewal’s Complaint Ridden Wedding
- October 21, 2021
That big, fat, noisy, ferris-wheel spinning and complaint-ridden Indo-Canadian wedding that you’ve heard about on the news is that of none other than Punjabi music video director-turned singer-actor Parmish Verma and losing federal Liberal candidate Geet Grewal, the daughter of developer Sukh Grewal. Sharry Mann took to social media on Monday to complain how badly he was treated by his friend Verma, who invited Mann and his family to the wedding but then took his phone away, which was a requirement for all party guests, and then didn’t even have the decency to greet him at the event. A visibly upset Mann used expletives against Verma in the videos posted on social media in describing insults he felt at the conduct of Verma and his family. Mann is known for drunkenness and for making noise on social media with his outlandish comments and funny videos but he genuinely seemed hurt by Verma and his family’s conduct.

SURREY – That big, fat, noisy, ferris-wheel spinning and complaint-ridden Indo-Canadian wedding that you’ve heard about on the news is that of none other than Punjabi music video director-turned singer-actor Parmish Verma and losing federal Liberal candidate Geet Grewal, the daughter of developer Sukh Grewal.
And it’s not only Verma’s supposed friend, Punjabi music star Sharry Mann who is upset with the conduct of the newly-wed couple, the neighbours in the 192 and 72 Avenue area of Surrey are also upset with the noise and inconsiderate nature of those holding the wedding celebrations.
Sharry Mann took to social media on Monday to complain how badly he was treated by his friend Verma, who invited Mann and his family to the wedding but then took his phone away, which was a requirement for all party guests, and then didn’t even have the decency to greet him at the event.
Mann, who was the music star attraction at the Darpan Extraordinary Awards last Friday, playing a lively set for the elite crowd, also charged that he was insulted when Verma’s people asked that he perform at the wedding when he had only come to attend as a guest and a close friend.
A visibly upset Mann used expletives against Verma in the videos posted on social media in describing insulted he felt at the conduct of Verma and his family. Mann is known for drunkenness and for making noise on social media with his outlandish comments and funny videos but he genuinely seemed hurt by Verma and his family’s conduct.
Getting back to the noise compalaints, the Surrey Now-Leader newspaper reported Tuesday that there were plenty of bleary-eyed Surrey residents after the RCMP was bombarded with complaint calls overnight about a huge wedding celebration in the area of 192 Street and 72 Avenue that roared on into the wee hours of the morning Monday.
The wedding of Verma and Grewal, Liberal MP candidate who lost in Mission-Matsqui-Fraser Canyon in the last federal election last month, featured a full-on ferris wheel and a concert-worthy sound system that blasted bhangra beats that could be heard as far as 15 blocks away, past 2 a.m.
Surrey RCMP Const. Sarbjit Sangha told the Now-Leader that city bylaws officers will be paying the newlyweds a visit today.
“The music was so loud, people were complaining, we had a lot of calls last night and I think bylaws are going to their residence today to issue them a whole bunch of fines,” she said.
A chopper was also heard flying overhead after the music died down.
“It might have been another news chopper,” Sangha said, “I don’t know if our Air 1 was up last night.”
Bylaws and Mounties were on scene last night responding not only to noise complaints but complaints about vehicles being parked on the street, she added.
“A few vehicles were towed from the street as well.”
Sangha said the bylaws enforcement department is taking the lead on this.
“We’re letting bylaws deal with it and we’re supporting them, we are there with them, if they need assistance we will be there but bylaws is going to take the lead on this because it is more to do with other people’s enjoyment of the property and noise complaints are usually dealt with with the fines,” she said. “I know they are going to issue fines to the homeowners.”
Police received as many as 40 noise complaints related to the wedding, she said.
“That’s excessive, and that’s why our members attended with bylaws and bylaws said they’d go in the morning, I think they didn’t want to deal with it last night.”
She said it was apparently difficult to contact the homeowners at that time, reported Now-Leader.
“Other people still have to go to work, they’ve got to get up in the morning, so they need their sleep. And people have small children, they need to go to sleep, and so this is very inconsiderate of these people.”
