BC COVID-19 UPDATE: 23 New Deaths And Nearly A 1000 Cases Over Last Two Days

COVID-19 related deaths continued to rise with the last 48 hours seeing 23 new deaths and nearly 1000 cases. Over a two-day period, B.C. is reporting 992 new cases of COVID-19, including one epi-linked case, for a total of 211,750 cases in the province: Nov. 10-11: 519 new cases and Nov. 11-12: 473 new cases.

VICTORIA – COVID-19 related deaths continued to rise with the last 48 hours seeing 23 new deaths and nearly 1000 cases.
As of Friday, Nov. 12, 90.6% (4,198,575) of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 86.5% (4,010,702) received their second dose.
In addition, 91.0% (3,935,943) of all eligible adults in B.C. have received their first dose and 87.1% (3,767,341) received their second dose.
Over a two-day period, B.C. is reporting 992 new cases of COVID-19, including one epi-linked case, for a total of 211,750 cases in the province:
* Nov. 10-11: 519 new cases
* Nov. 11-12: 473 new cases
There are currently 4,265 active cases of COVID-19 in the province, and 204,963 people who tested positive have recovered. Of the active cases, 384 individuals are currently in hospital and 124 are in intensive care. The remaining people are recovering at home in self-isolation.
The new/active cases include:
* 308 new cases in Fraser Health
* Total active cases: 1,575
* 117 new cases in Vancouver Coastal Health
* Total active cases: 510
* 263 new cases in Interior Health
* Total active cases: 862
* 166 new cases in Northern Health
* Total active cases: 645
* 138 new cases in Island Health
* Total active cases: 614
* no new cases of people who reside outside of Canada
* Total active cases: 59
In the past 48 hours, 23 new deaths have been reported, for an overall total of 2,257.
The new deaths include:
* Fraser Health: eight
* Vancouver Coastal Health: 11
* Interior Health: two
* Northern Health: one
* Island Health: one
There have been two new health-care facility outbreaks at Abbotsford Regional Hospital (Fraser Health) and Royal Inland Hospital (Interior Health). The outbreaks at The Emerald at Elim Village, Bethshan Gardens, Hallmark on the Park (Fraser Health) and GR Baker Memorial Hospital (Northern Health) have been declared over, for a total of 25 facilities with ongoing outbreaks, including:
* long-term care:
* Cherington Place, Queens Park Care Centre, Rosemary Heights Seniors Village, Tabor Home, Cascade Gardens, Maplewood House, George Derby Centre, Dufferin Care Centre (Fraser Health);
* Amica Edgemont (Vancouver Coastal Health);
* Village by the Station, Brocklehurst Gemstone Care Centre, Sun Pointe Village (Interior Health);
* Peace Villa (Northern Health); and
* Chartwell Malaspina Care Residence (Island Health).
* acute care:
* Mission Memorial Hospital, Queen's Park Care Centre, Abbotsford Regional Hospital, Burnaby Hospital (Fraser Health);
* Royal Inland Hospital (Interior Health);
* Bulkley Valley District Hospital (Northern Health); and
* Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (Island Health)
* assisted or independent living:
* Swedish Assisted Living Residence, Harrison Pointe, The Cedars and Revera Parkwood Manor (Fraser Health).
From Nov. 4-10, people not fully vaccinated accounted for 61.0% of cases and from Oct. 28 to Nov. 10 they accounted for 68.9% of hospitalizations.

Since December 2020, the province has administered 8,423,484 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines.
