SURREY – Fraser Health advisory is advising people that people working at Basant Sweets and Dosa House might have been exposed to COVID-19 as one of the kitchen staff tested positive  of the vius.

“If you worked at Basant Sweets and Dosa House, Surrey on the dates June 4, 5, 6 and 7 from 10am to 7pm, please monitor your health for signs of COVID-19, especially if you are worsening of conditions like cough, fever, headaches, fatigue and other signs,” said a Fraser Health warning letter dated June 14.

But owner Sarabjeet Singh told Vancouverite.come news site that he has been fighting rumours in the community that several people working at the restaurant had sick or isolated but it was only one chef.

“There was only one person and he’s in isolation,” he said.

However, people affected by the virus won’t know until 14 days if they are affected and Sarabjit didn’t clarify if all the staff working at the two restaurants had been isolated.

Another employee told Vancouverite the person who was taken ill had fever and flu-like symptoms around June 6.

But the owner said the employee is in isolation for 14 days and that the restaurant is safe for people.

Although she didn’t specify the name of the restaurant but Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry had mentioned that five or six people were ill at a small fast food restaurant’s kitchen.

But the Fraser Health advisory clearly states that other employees may have been in close contact with a confirmed case of Covid-19.
