UK-based Baby Doll singer Kanika Kapoor has tested coronavirus positive. She is accused of hiding her travel history and then partying in India at a 5-star hotel. Kanika’s father Rajiv Kapoor, in the meantime, spoke to Aaj Tak and said that she attended three parties after arriving in Lucknow from London but denied that she hid her travel history. "Six of us in our family are undergoing tests today at 4pm. Kanika has attended three parties after her arrival. She came in contact with around 350-400 people in three parties. Along with Kanika, we are also in isolation," Rajiv Kapoor told Aaj Tak.

NEW DELHI - Singer Kanika Kapoor, best known for her songs Baby Doll and Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan, tested positive for the novel coronavirus on Friday. She has been admitted to the King George's Medical University (KGMU) hospital in Lucknow.

The 41-year-old entertainer was in London for a while and returned to Lucknow last week. She also refrained from informing authorities about her travel history. Upon arriving in Lucknow, Kanika also attended a lavish party with her friends and family at a five-star hotel in Lucknow thereafter.

This party was hosted by top interior designer Adil Ahmad, nephew of Akbar Ahmad Dumpy. Adil had designed the interiors for Vasundhara Raje's Delhi home. Raje was also part of the dinner hosted by Adil, as was her son Dushyant.

Several bureaucrats, politicians and socialites attended the party as per reports. The singer stayed in a sprawling apartment in Lucknow. Medical officials are now unsure of the method that should be observed to quarantine the entire building where the singer stayed and also subject the guests at the party to tests, news agency IANS reports.

Rajiv Kapoor, however, denied reports of Kanika dodging airport authorities. Instead, he said that she did the test at the airport and "nothing" was reported at that point in time.

News agency ANI, without naming the singer, had reported earlier today that Kanika is one of the four people who tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Uttar Pradesh today.

Kanika Kapoor has also provided vocals to the songs Chhil Gaye Naina and Da Da Dasse.
