Richmond RCMP discovered two bodies on Saturday morning in the city after receiving reports of gunfire. On June 4, at approximately 11:03 am, Richmond RCMP was called to the 7000 block of Ackroyd Rd after a report of shots fired was received. Upon attendance, Richmond RCMP frontline officers located two deceased victims, both having suffered gunshot wounds. Based on the investigative theory in this initial phase, this does not appear to be a random act. Police have not yet released the names or identities of the victims.

RICHMOND – Richmond RCMP discovered two bodies on Saturday morning in the city after receiving reports of gunfire.

On June 4, at approximately 11:03 am, Richmond RCMP was called to the 7000 block of Ackroyd Rd after a report of shots fired was received. Upon attendance, Richmond RCMP frontline officers located two deceased victims, both having suffered gunshot wounds.

Based on the investigative theory in this initial phase, this does not appear to be a random act. Police have not yet released the names or identities of the victims.

The area surrounding the scene will be cordoned off for a significant amount of time.  The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called and will be working in partnership with Richmond RCMP.

Police are currently in the evidence gathering phase, no further information will be provided at this time. Further details and media availability will be handled by the IHIT Media Relations Officer.
