Indo-British Hollywood superstar Dev Patel stars as Sir Gawain, the nephew of King Arthur played by Sean Harris, in what distributor-producer A24 films describes as an “epic take on the classic Arthurian legend”. 

LOS ANGELES – The moody trailer of Indo-British Hollywood superstar Dev Patel’s’s new movie The Green Knight co-starring Alicia Vikander, Joel Edgerton, Sean Harris, Kate Dickie hit Twitter and other social media and is catching fire quickly. 

Patel stars as Sir Gawain, the nephew of King Arthur played by Sean Harris, in what distributor-producer A24 films describes as an “epic take on the classic Arthurian legend”. 

The movie The Green Knight is based on the 14th century poem “Sir Gawain and the Green Knight”. The trailer opens with Gawain (Patel) confessing  to Arthur (Harris) and his queen (Kate Dickie) that he has no tales of valor to tell yet. Gawain seeks to earn a place at Arthur’s Round Table by defeating the Green Knight (Ralph Ineson).

The film, which is directed by David Lowery and is his take on the medieval tale, releases in theatres in summer 2020.

Dev Patel is recognized for starring in Slumdog Millionaire, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and Lion. He has recently been in the Amazon series Modern Love. 

A24 films has produced many popular films such as Uncut Gems (2019), Midsommar (2019), Mid 90’s (2018), Hereditary (2018) and many more. A24 films has also teased some other soon to be released films, which included First Cow, Minariand, Zola and Saint Maud. 

The movie is set to open in theatres May 29.
